Meet Jason

I was born and raised in Louisville, KY, the oldest of 6 children.  I grew up in PRP where my family attended St. Polycarp during the 80’s and 90’s.  Then I went on to St. Xavier High School.  I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Louisville and I graduated from U of L Law School in 2007.  My wife, Hannah, and I got married in 2005.  We have 3 wonderful children that we adopted through the foster care program here in Louisville.
  

Since I started my law practice, I’ve been lucky enough to work alongside my father, John Bauman, Atty, who’s been helping people in the Louisville Metro area with their legal needs for over 40 years.  I share office space with him in the Dixie Manor Office Suites in the same part of town where I grew up.  He always treats his clients with the utmost respect and empathy, often helping those who cannot afford his services or have difficult cases.  This has been a great lesson to me about what is really important in this profession. 

I also had an office located in Gaslight Square in downtown J-Town from 2009 through 2020.  That office has now relocated a few miles down Taylorsville Road to the intersection at Breckenridge Lane.  I am fortunate to share office space with Wallace Spalding, Atty in my Hikes Point office.  Like my father, Mr. Spalding has also been an Attorney here in Louisville for over 40 years.  The guidance and wisdom I have gained from such experienced lawyers has been invaluable to me. 
  

I have handled various types of cases over the years from personal injury to criminal.  However, I’ve learned over that time that an Attorney really can’t be great at everything when practicing in varying areas.  That’s why I decided several years ago to focus my practice on only 2 areas of the law, Estate Planning and Bankruptcy.  

Narrowing down my law practice allows me to become much more knowledgeable in those specific areas.  This leaves me better equipped to advise and assist my clients through the legal process.  Whether you’re struggling with debt, you’re experiencing the loss of a loved one, or you’re looking to plan for your family’s future…I can help!
